About Us

StarLaw was founded in 2005 for the specific purpose of developing information management solutions for the legal community.

Founded by a core group of entrepreneur developers with substantial expertise in enterprise-class software systems, StarLaw recruited experts from multiple industries, not just the legal community, to craft the vision and specific architecture that has evolved into the StarLaw Suite. For back-end and scalability vision, the company recruited seasoned programmers with extensive experience in large-scale, mission critical financial services software. For records management, the company brought in seasoned records management professionals with extensive experience in developing and implementing detailed rule sets and processes for controlling the life cycle of hardcopy materials in accordance to government and legal obligations. These and other valuable professionals were—and are—coordinated by a management team deeply steeped in the needs and culture of the legal community.

Building the right internal team was only the first step in developing StarLaw. The company solicited comments and other insight from working lawyers and members of the legal I.T. community to gain direct intelligence into the ways that law firms were managing their internal information and to identify the continuing annoyances and problems they faced when using existing products. Over time, the core information management functionality demanded by these users and system administrators became the StarLaw Suite.

We believe in the value of the StarLaw Suite, because we understand what lawyers do.
