Deployment

StarLaw can be deployed in a variety of hardware and software configurations. While many clients choose to deploy StarLaw using one or more dedicated servers, StarLaw can also share resources with existing Microsoft SQL® servers and network SANs.

Each StarLaw server comes with the full StarLaw suite of information management solutions installed; clients decide when—and how—to enable functionality. Firms choose whether they begin with Starlaw document, Email or records management capabilities. Of course, StarLaw's functionality allows firms to efficiently and cost effectively manage not only digital content but also existing hardcopy. StarLaw's modular design can begin as a Records department solution targeted at solving ‘traditional' records management problems and then easily scale to meet a variety of practice needs within an office or across the entire firm.

The StarLaw Client Services Team works with one or more of our strategic partners to match an optimal StarFlex solution to our client's needs. The StarLaw delivery methodology is designed to provide not just a successful deployment but a high level of adoption. Starting with the Envision phase, of client resources, capabilities and needs are assessed to understand key project drivers, content conversion needs and critical success factors. Objectives and challenges identified during Envisioning cascade throughout the Plan, Design, Delivery and Adoption phases of the project serving to establish critical project milestones, sharpen resource needs and define important deliverables.

With the StarFlex architecture, the core StarLaw technology is simple to deploy. StarLaw servers are able to integrate with Microsoft Active Directory® and can be easily configured communicate with each other in a multi-server, enterprise configuration. Business Content is automatically shared among all servers in a StarLaw Universe and ALL user searches are Enterprise Searches by default - rendering content location transparent to each end user.

Understanding that content conversion is fundamental to successful Adoption, StarLaw's content conversion tools are flexible and can be tailored to suit each client's unique needs. Documents, spreadsheets, .PDF files and electronic mail (including PST files) can be discovered and imported into StarLaw from a client's file system, other enterprise content management systems and legacy records systems.

StarLaw easily scales to a firm's growing needs. Simply add a StarLaw server and it meshes with existing peer servers on a near-automatic basis. Servers on the same network communicate and can automatically synchronize metadata and content (data with other peer servers). Based on StarLaw's proprietary optimized communication protocol, performance across client local and wide area networks is efficient and outperforms legacy protocols in use today.

Joining technology, people and process to meet client needs is simpler, better and faster leveraging StarLaw's Envision to Adoption solution methodology, working with our growing team of Business Partners and taking advantage of the StarFlex architecture and protocols.
